Terms
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Dearli Technologies LTD. (“Dearli”, “we”), a company in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us at hello@dearli.ca. By making or buying a letter you agree to them. Your confirmation email, with what you bought, what it cost and a link to these terms, is your copy of this agreement.
Who can buy
You must be the age of majority where you live (19 in British Columbia) to buy a letter, or buy with a parent's or guardian's permission.
What you buy
A Dearli letter is a private page made for one person: a photo or video, a voice message and a note, which they open from a link or, for a letter by mail, by tapping the letter with a phone. The 30-day diary is thirty such pages, one a day. A letter by mail is a physical letter we post within Canada with a tag inside that opens it.
Making a letter before you buy it
You can make a letter and see it exactly as it will be received before you pay. It cannot be sent to anyone until it is bought: until then it is private to your browser, has no link anyone else can open, and is deleted a few minutes after you leave or after an hour without activity.
Price and payment
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Before you pay you see the full amount: the letter, a longer keeping time if you choose one, any promotion, postage for a letter by mail, and taxes where they apply. A promotion code takes its amount off the letter itself, not off a longer keeping time or postage. Payment is handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
Letters are personal, so they can't be refunded once sealed
A letter is made for one person and sealed when you pay: its content cannot be changed afterwards, and so it cannot be returned or refunded. You see the finished letter before you pay. This does not limit any right you have under consumer protection law, and:
- if a letter can't be opened because of a fault on our side, we will fix it or refund you;
- if a letter by mail is lost or damaged in the post, tell us and we will send another;
- if a letter by mail has not been sent within 30 days of your order, you may cancel it for a full refund.
How it arrives
You can send the link yourself, let it open on a date, ask us to remind you, or ask us to email it on a date. Emails can be delayed, filtered as spam or missed; sending the link yourself is the surest way. A letter by mail is posted once it is sealed, usually within a few business days; we email you when it is on its way.
How long it is kept
How long a letter is kept is part of what you buy. Three months is included, counted from the day it is first opened; a year costs $5 more. When that time is up, the letter's photo or video, voice and words are deleted for good and its link says the letter has ended. A letter never opened is deleted a year after you buy it. If we ever have to stop before your time is up, we will give you at least 90 days' notice by email and a way to download what you sent.
Your content
- What you put in a letter stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the people who open the letter, for as long as it is kept, and nothing else.
- Only include what you have the right to share. Nothing illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual involving minors, or that exposes someone else's private information without their consent.
- We don't look at letters except to keep the service running, when you ask us to, or when the law requires it. We may remove a letter that breaks these rules, without refund.
Your private links
Your confirmation email contains a private link to manage your letter. Anyone with that link, or with an unlocked letter's link, can open it. Keep them to people you trust, and use a lock if you want a second key.
Messages from us
We only send what a letter needs: your receipt, the reminders and deliveries you ask for, and a forgotten code when you ask for it. Every message says who it is from, and you can stop reminders at any time by writing to hello@dearli.ca. We send news only if you ask for it.
Partners
Some people share Dearli through their own links or codes and may earn a commission on a purchase. It never changes what you pay beyond any discount the code gives.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a letter is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and of Canada that apply there. We may update them; the version that applies to a letter is the one in effect when you bought it. Questions or complaints: hello@dearli.ca. We answer within two business days.
